Director and Senior Ecologist
Alan Scott CEnv MIEEM MSc BSc
Alan Scott Founded CEL in 1996 and has been Director and Senior Ecologist from 1996 to the present day. He has s BSc Hons Zoology from Nottingham University and an MSc in Ecology from the University College of North Wales Charter Environmentalist. He has been a ful member of the Institute of Ecology and Environmental Management since 1998 and was registered as a Chartered Environmentalist by the Society for the Environment in 2005
Alan has over 25 years experience in nature conservation throughout the UK. Worked for statutory agencies (Nature Conservancy Council), local authorities (Islington Council) and voluntary bodies (Nottinghamshire Wildlife Trust, National Trust, Groundwork Hackney).
Alan specialises in many areas of nature conservation management:
- Management plans for nature reserves and wildlife sites (written over 100).
- Community involvement nature conservation.
- Urban wildlife management.
- Practical nature reserve and land management for nature conservation.
Other staff
Rowan Kent
Rowan as worked on a huge range of contracts and sites for CEL in London and the South East since 2004. He is a qualified strimmer operative and has experience of most conservation tasks including footpath creation, woodland management, meadow work, pond creation, etc.
Andrew Lyon
Andrew has worked regularly for CEL for just over 2 years. He is a qualified chainsaw and strimmer operative and is working towards a part-time environmental degree.
Jonothan Starkey
Jonothan has worked for CEL regularly since it was set up in 1997. Prior to this he worked a project officer for the British Trust for Conservation Volunteers.
